EYFS
We all enjoyed the Science show this morning and it was lovely that Mr Wood mentioned Archimedes, having tested out the Archimedes principle yesterday when we explored floating and sinking. Today, we also constructed our own bridges. The children worked in pairs, to plan their design and then make their bridge. This afternoon, the children explored cornflour slime and loved feeling it through their fingers. One boy described it as it dripped off his fingers, saying that it was melting!
KEY STAGE 1
All KS1 classes thoroughly enjoyed Mr Wood’s science show all about forces! The children loved watching all the practical experiments and learning about the science behind them. A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Wood for running two science shows for the pupils today to finish our whole-school science week!
YEAR 3
Year 3 enjoyed learning more about the different parts of the plant, namely the flower, and how these are involved in the pollination process. The children loved acting out the process and making plasticine models to show everything they had learned.
YEAR 4
Year 4 were lucky enough to explore India from the comfort of their own classroom today! The VR Headsets allowed them to explore a number of famous Indian landmarks, especially those they have learnt about in their India humanities topic!
KEY STAGE 2
All KS2 classes were extremely lucky to witness Mr Wood’s fascinating science show all about forces. They learned all about falling in a vacuum, inertia, gravity, action and reaction and how science was first used to solve a crime! It was fantastic!
