Recognising its historic foundation in 1675 by Lady Margaret Boswell, this Church of England Aided Primary School will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level, and with the benefit of assistance from the Trustees of the Lady Margaret Boswell's Church of England Educational Charity in accordance with the provisions of the 1675 Settlement and the Scheme in 24 June 1980.

The School aims to serve its community by providing an excellent education for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds in the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith. It promotes Christian values and the spiritual development through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
