Mrs Kate Phillips, Appointed by the Bishop of Rochester
Kate Phillips was appointed as a Governor in 2015 and became Chair of Governors in 2016. Over the years she has developed and implemented many initiatives at school and she was Treasurer of the PTA for nine years. Kate’s career background is in corporate and investment banking. Married to Nigel, they have four children who have all attended Lady Boswell’s. One is a current pupil, one now at The Judd School and two at Tonbridge Grammar School.
Mr Andrew Boshoff, Appointed by St Nicholas Parochial Church Council
Andrew Boshoff was appointed as a Governor in 2012 and he is currently Chair of Finance. He is also a Trustee of the Lady Boswell's Trust, which owns the land and assets of the school. He is a qualified solicitor who currently works in finance and strategic consulting. He is actively involved in the 4 O'Clock congregation of St. Nicholas Church and his wife Penny is training to be a teacher while working part-time as a Teaching Assistant at Lady Boswell's. They have three children, all of whom were at the school, with the last one leaving in 2012.
Mr David Crawford, Appointed by St Nicholas Parochial Church Council
David was appointed as a Foundation Governor in May 2016. He is married to Xenia and has three sons and a daughter. The family have lived in the Sevenoaks area for 8 years and are active members of St Nicholas. David works as a fund manager in London and is also involved with a number of Christian charities. He loves all things outdoors including mountain climbing, sea swimming and hiking.
Mrs Elizabeth Miller, Appointed by the Rochester Diocesan Board of Education
Elizabeth was appointed as a Foundation Governor in November 2012. For the last twelve years she has been a teacher in the local area. Elizabeth, and her husband James, first became part of the family of St. Nicholas in 1982. One of her earliest jobs was Play Leader of the Children's Workshop. Both her two daughters attended the school and benefited from the school community and the Christian values underpinning teaching. Elizabeth's contact with Lady Boswell's families has continued over the years through her involvement wih the 4 o'clock Church.
Mr Philip Walker
Philip was elected as a Foundation Governor in September 2014. He is currently retired after a long career in finance, both in the UK and US. He is married to Cathy and has two sons and a daughter. They have worshipped and served at St Nicholas church for a number of years since moving to Sevenoaks in 2003. In retirement, Philip has served as a Trustee to YMCA Training and as Chairman of the YMCA pension fund trustee body.
Mrs Emma Watson, appointed by the Rochester Diocesan Board of Education
Emma Watson was appointed as a Foundation Governor in May 2016. Emma grew up in Sevenoaks, and returned three years ago following a period overseas. Her professional background is in strategic management consultancy. More recently, Emma has provided assistance to several not-for-profit organisations in the UK and in Dubai (UAE). Emma worships and serves at St Nicholas Church in the 4 o’clock congregation. She is married to Gavin and has three children, all of secondary school age.
The Reverend Tom Nash, Ex Officio - Associate Rector of St Nicholas Church, Sevenoaks
Tom is an old boy, a parent, and a governor at Lady Boswell's School. He is married to Clare and they have three boys. Tom loves talking to people about Jesus and teaching the Bible. When not overseeing the church plants from St Nicholas Sevenoaks (one of which, Grace Church, meets at Lady Boswell's School at 10.00am on Sundays) he can be found spending time with his family and waiting for his international call up in several sports
Mrs Sharon Saunders, Ex Officio, The Head Teacher
Sharon Saunders joined Lady Boswell's in January 2010 as Headteacher. She has been teaching for 24 years across all age ranges. Prior to Lady Boswell's Mrs Saunders was a Deputy Headteacher for nine years at a local primary school where she completed her National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). She is passionate about ensuring that every child receives an outstanding education within the heart of our Christian school community. She is married to Ian and has four grown up children.
Mr Philip Wood, elected by the Local Education Authority
Philip Wood is our LEA Appointed Governor. He has been a Governor since 1990 and was originally a St Nicholas Church appointee. He lives in Sevenoaks and is married to Kath. Their two adult children both attended the school. Phillip has had a long business career and is now a non executive director of a US public company and a trustee of CfBT Education Trust, which undertakes school improvement and related projects in the UK and overseas.
Mrs Sarah Horton, elected Staff Governor
Sarah Horton joined the Governing body in October 2017. She has lived in Sevenoaks for 27 years with her family. Her previous career was in the fashion industry as sales director for a PLC company, but after having her children she worked in primary education locally, teaching swimming and computing as well as managing Lady Boswell's school network. She has also in the past been clerk to the governors at a local primary school.
Mrs Kinvara Rogers, elected Parent Governor
Kinvara Rogers was appointed as a Parent Governor in 2017. She and her husband, Dan, have 2 children at Lady Boswell’s and a pre-schooler. Alongside parenting, Kinvara works part-time as a management consultant, specialising in strategy and change management. She loves the countryside, is a keen cook and is happiest spending time with family and friends.
Mrs Suzanne Morris, elected Parent Governor
Suzanne was appointed Parent Governor in March 2017. She is married to Joel and they moved to Sevenoaks from London in 2005. They have a son and two daughters, who are all pupils at Lady Boswell’s. Suzanne has worked in public relations throughout her career, and is currently a partner in a London-based consultancy.
